When you turn the key on the bottom and set the cup on the saucer, it stays quiet when you pick up the cup. It plays the music. Vintage piece made by Schmid in Massachusetts. Will come very carefully wrapped . There are no chips or cracks on the cup or the saucer saucer has slight misprint of the gold edging on the bottom see pictures.
