in-demand ! Vintage Incolay Cast Sculptured Stone Plate

This plate is one of a limited edition made in 1978, numbered 13139. The Incolay process was patented, and stands for: "In Colored Layers." Incolay Stone is a complex combination of quartz based minerals such as Rose Quartz, Sapphire Blue, Sardonyx, Carnelian, Onyx and Banded Agate, combined to produce each piece. The White Artwork is hand inlaid, and the variegated background is hand stratified. The two chemically fuse together into one solid piece of Incolay Stone. Each Piece is handcrafted and has a one of a kind stone formation. No two pieces can ever be identical. This plate is inspired by the John Keats poem, "A Thing of Beauty." This plate is in outstanding condition. It is signed by the artist Gayle Bright Appleby.
